Why WFF
WFF has been established to build on the inspiration and example of Darvall and Ida Wilkins, and to use the power of their legacy to create practical support for the most vulnerable, starting in the area they were most involved with, now Malampa Province, and eventually covering the rest of Vanuatu as the Foundation grows.
We began modestly in 2019, and with funding generously provided by family and close friends were able to establish partnerships in two secondary schools on Malekula. The scope of our work has grown significantly over time and we are well on our way to meeting our expansion goals.
We are ramping up our fundraising efforts with individuals, governments and trusts and foundations so that we can increase numbers in our current schools and extend the program to include more schools and post-school partnerships and opportunities. Our commitment is to work in partnership with schools and other educational organisations, as well as the national and provincial governments. We are actively building links with organisations in Vanuatu, as well as others in Australia.
